Hart, Brian

A graduate of Rhode Island School of Design, Hart’s paintings draw from a variety of sources from advertisements and cartoons to the work of old master printmakers to create his densely layered, colorful paintings.  Patterns, figures and colors all meld into each other to create works that look initially abstract but are composed of individual elements that “appear” under more careful inspection.  Hart’s work has been exhibited in shows across the country and abroad, including recent exhibitions at Northeastern University and an artist installation at the Meow Wolf art complex in Santa Fe.  He serves on the board of the Brickbottom Artist Association in Somerville, MA where he currently lives and paints.
