Tom Carleton was born in Cambridge, MA in 1925 and was a veteran of World War II. He graduated from the Scott Carbee School of Fine Arts in Boston in 1950, where he received a classical training degree. His impressionistic paintings document old and new marine subjects as well as landscapes and seascapes, particularly of the North Shore.
